Many practitioners want to build practices that are financially sustainable and responsive to the needs of everyday clients—but don’t know where to start. Traditional law firm models often leave the middle market priced out, while offering little guidance for attorneys who want to practice differently. The Blueprint for Building a Modern, Affordable Law Practice was created to close that gap by providing a clear, practical framework for designing a law practice that is accessible, inclusive, and built for long-term success.

Cohorts typically begin the first Monday of January each year.
What’s the time commitment?
The program begins with a week-long bootcamp in January. Bootcamp sessions run from 9:00 to 1:00 daily for five days. Training sessions occur in two 90-minute training sessions per month for 11 months. Those opting to participate in a pro bono residency will commit 20-hours per week to the residency for six months. As a result, the time commitment varies based on individual engagement, but is expected to be a minimum of three hours per month after bootcamp.
Can I work while I participate in the program?
It depends! You can work while participating in LEJ as there is no restriction against it. However, balancing a full- or part-time job alongside the program’s demands is unique to each person’s time management style and personal commitments. We encourage you to evaluate your current responsibilities and how they align with the time and energy needed to build a business, to determine if working during the program is the best choice for you.
